Blikvanger
Privacy policy

What stays on your iPhone
Camera images, depth data, mesh data, AR session data and vehicle labels are processed in memory on your iPhone. Blikvanger does not save or upload camera images, location, depth, mesh data or AR session history. Vehicle labels and lookup results last only for the current app session.
RDW Open Data
After a Dutch plate has been confirmed across multiple frames, Blikvanger sends only the six-character plate text over HTTPS to the public RDW Open Data service. The response contains public vehicle details. Blikvanger never requests or displays vehicle-owner data.
RDW publishes its own information about the Open Data service and its data practices. Blikvanger does not operate the RDW service and does not receive a user account, contact details or camera data from it.
Information we do not collect
Blikvanger has no account system, advertising, analytics, cross-app tracking, developer-operated application server or third-party SDK. The app does not request or store your name, email address, phone number or precise location.
On-device preference
One local preference remembers whether onboarding was completed. It stays on the device and is removed when the app is deleted. Resetting the app removes vehicle labels, lookup results and temporary RDW cache data.
Your choices and questions
You can deny or withdraw camera permission in iOS Settings. You can reset the current scan or delete the app at any time. For privacy questions, contact [email protected].
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when Blikvanger or its data flows change. The date at the top of this page indicates when it was last updated.
